The Upside Down
The Upside Down Museum is all about you. Which immediately highlights what's wrong with it in my opinion. A location dedicated to taking pictures of ourselves, generating shallow social media posts and further feeding the need of the masses to be seen on the internet. Ah, glad I got that off my chest!
It's basically a giant photo studio with a bunch of themed environments where you can take selfies and group shots. Some parts are literally upside down, but not all of it. The name is a bit misleading that way. When you walk in, there's a rotating tunnel you can cross on a bridge. It messes with your sense of balance and makes for a good photo. Hold on to the rails though, or you'll stumble. There are spots where you can change into costumes — think airplane crew uniforms or historical outfits. Good for a funny picture. There's also a ball pit, nicely lit for the camera. You get the idea. I'll be honest: this place isn't really my thing. It's very focused on yourself, and the pictures you get aren't exactly unique. But I went with a large group of colleagues and they had a blast. So it clearly works for some people. One thing to know: the museum isn't in the city centre. You'll need to take the metro or another form of public transport to get there.
